How do we train excellent physicians and scientists? Our lab cultivates trainees via intentional, stepwise progressions, assembling toolkits of scientific reason, technique, and communication tailored to multiple stages and goals. Trainee wellbeing and development is the foremost priority of the lab, and the opportunity to mentor the next generation is a tremendous privilege.

Our core values include teamwork, integrity, and creativity. From the start the field of synthetic biology established a culture of warmth and openness that serves as our ideal. Our work is inherently multidisciplinary, and diverse points of view and training paths are encouraged. I am a child of two scientists, and so the support of scientists with families is personally meaningful.
